Oh, I forgot to spec the ballhead I am using: it is a Really Right Stuff BH-55 Pro and in case you were wondering, that is an incredible piece of equipment I would recommend to anyone.
Well, I just returned from a sunrise shoot where I was trying out for the first time some new gear that I purchased recently; a tripod, a ballhead, a battery grip, and a remote switch.Wow! That is a completely different animal from hand held shooting.Just knowing that there is less camera vibration per frame is deeply satisfying. So I am now shooting with a Canon 5D Mark ll, two Canon LP-E6's (batteries), a Kirk L-bracket for Canon 5D Mark ll w/ grip, a Canon BG-E6 Battery grip, a Gitzo GT5541LS,and a Canon RC-5 Remote Controller. The lenses I am currently using are the only two lenses I own, and they are a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM. Prior to this I have been hand holding everything using just my 5D Mark ll and the two lenses. Prior to getting the 100-400mm I was just using the 24-105mm lens which came with the camera body in a kit...
